The Sun Prairie Ice Arena will be offering two different Adult Hockey Experience sessions for C-League level players. Please read the description below and follow the links to the right to get to the appropriate registration for either the 3v3 or 5v5 format.
Sessions for D League will begin November 30th and be on Monday nights (but may have sessions Tuesday/Wednesday nights for earlier time slots).
SP Ice is offering a short 6-week adult hockey experience for interested players. The format attempts to minimize on-ice interactions between players with only two groups of 5 players on the ice at any one time, plus goalies, and up to 3 substitutes on each bench. Players will participate in 5 v 5 activities using a full ice format. Pods of 8 players each will be kept constant for the 6-week session and will be initially set to balance skills throughout the pods. Scores and statistics will not be kept as these are not official games. On-ice sessions will last 60 minutes with a 5-minute warm-up, 17 minutes of 5 v 5 activity, a 1-minute break, another 17-minutes of 5 v 5 activity, another 1-minute break, and then a final 17-minute activity.
To minimize the exposure between players, locker rooms will remain closed, and players are to show up mostly dressed. A cloth face mask covering the mouth and nose is not required in this format. Players will not be allowed to socialize before or after these sessions inside the ice arena but are encouraged to visit the Card Table restaurant. Masks ARE required entering and leaving the facility as well as anytime you're not on the ice. Open locker rooms at the end of each sheet are to be utilized for pre-game preparation (which means home dressing to the best of your ability). You may arrive 10-minutes prior and must leave 10-minutes after. Only small bags are allowed (duffle or backpack like) in the facility unless you're a goalie.
The cost for this session is $15 per week for 6 weeks for a total of $90.

Note: D-Division follows C-Division rules and guidelines with the following addenda:
D-Division recognizes D-Division veterans first for veteran preference in rostering. C-Division and Core Skills Clinic veterans are given preference over non-OBHL vets. The D-Division board may recommend players register at a higher or lower division, based on skill and competitiveness.
Mentor players in D-Division are defined as players with a rating of 6 or higher (OBHL uses the same rating scale as C-Division). Mentor players are expected to serve as leaders and play facilitators. They are limited to one goal per game.
Registration for the OBHL D-League Hockey Experience is now open. Please read the description of the available hockey experiences the rink is offering for more details.

** as compared to other players rated at the same level as well as to the overall talent level of each division and the OBHL as a whole.
For adult skaters wishing to enjoy hockey at a slower pace, newer players wishing to build their skills in a supportive environment and experienced players who enjoy mentoring others. Players registering for D Division should have some hockey experience and should be able to skate and stop competently. No instruction is provided in D Division. Players with limited hockey experience or who are novice skaters should register for the Core Skills Clinic.
** Division capacity may increase or decrease before or during any season as it is dependent upon number of registrations and available goalies. Season start & end dates as well as overall season length (number of games) may be subject to change before or during the season. Game schedules (days/times) and short notices may be unavoidable due to tournaments, high school games, and other unforeseen events. SP-Ice will do it's best to minimize these occurrences.
